PourSavvy Privacy Policy

Who we are: L&N Collective LLC ("we", "us"), a California limited liability company, makers of the PourSavvy app.

PourSavvy has no accounts. You don't give us your name, email, phone number or location. This policy explains the little we do collect and why.
What we collect
1. Photos you take with the in-app camera.
When you scan a bottle, shelf or menu, the photo is sent to our server and then to our AI provider, Anthropic, PBC, which reads the wine names and label details. We do not keep the photo ourselves. Anthropic processes it under its commercial terms, which do not allow it to use the photo to train its models; Anthropic may retain inputs and outputs for a limited period (currently up to 30 days) before deleting them. We only ask for camera access; we never read your photo library.
2. An anonymous device ID.
The first time you open the app it creates a random ID. It is not your advertising ID and can't be traced to you by us. We use it to count your free scans each month, to know whether your subscription is active, and to limit abuse.
3. Scan and score history (server).
For each completed scan we record: the time, the device ID, the type of scan, the wine's producer, name and vintage, and the score and verdict we showed. We use this to see which wines to research next, fix mistakes, and improve scoring. We also record how much AI processing each scan used, for cost control.
4. Your Personalize settings.
If you turn on options such as sulfite sensitivity, limiting sugar, headaches or flushing, or allergies and vegan preferences, they are sent with each scan so the score and warnings fit you. Some of these could be considered health-related. Our server uses them only to calculate your result in that moment. We do not store them on our servers and we do not send them to our AI provider. They are saved only on your phone. We don't use them for advertising and we don't sell or share them. You give us this information voluntarily by turning an option on, and you can turn it off at any time.
5. Data stored only on your phone.
Your scan history list, your Personalize settings and your camera/scan-mode preference are kept on your device. Deleting the app removes them.
6. Purchase information.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to manage them. RevenueCat receives your anonymous device ID and purchase details (product, dates, status) from the store. We never see your payment card or Apple/Google account details.
7. Technical data.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, sees your IP address when the app contacts our server, and we use it briefly to rate-limit requests. Cloudflare may keep request logs (including IP addresses) for a short period. We do not store IP addresses in our scan history. If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, it may send a crash report to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) with the error details, your phone model, operating system and app version. Reports contain no photos, no wine names, no Personalize settings and no IP address that we store or use. The app also checks for updates through Expo (Expo Application Services), which receives standard request data such as your IP address, platform and app version.
What we do not do
- We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.
- We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We don't use advertising SDKs.
- We don't collect your location, contacts or photo library.
Who we share data with (service providers)
| Provider | Why | What they get |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic, PBC | Read label/menu photos with AI | The photo you scan |
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosting and storage for our server | Everything our server handles, including IP address |
| Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) | Crash and error reports | Error details, device model, OS and app version |
| Expo (650 Industries, Inc.) | App update delivery | IP address, platform, app version |
| RevenueCat, Inc. | Subscription management | Anonymous device ID, purchase events |
| Apple / Google | App distribution and payments | Per their own policies |
We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined in California law. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, or in a sale or merger of our business.
How long we keep it
Scan history and usage records are deleted automatically 12 months after they are created. Monthly and daily scan counters are deleted within days. Photos are not kept. Subscription status is kept while your subscription is active; purchase records held by Apple, Google and RevenueCat follow their own policies and our accounting and legal needs.
Your choices and rights
- Stop collection: deleting the app stops all collection from that install. Turning off Personalize settings stops them being sent.
- Deletion: we don't know who you are, and our records are tied only to a random ID that the app does not display, so we generally can't find which records are yours. They expire automatically after 12 months. If you contact info@PourSavvy.com with a request, we'll do what we reasonably can.
- Turn off Personalize settings at any time in the app.
- Camera access can be turned off in your phone's settings (scanning then won't work).
- Depending on where you live (for example California and other US states, the EU/UK), you may have rights to know what we hold, and to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. Contact us and we'll help. We use any information we hold only to run and improve the service. Because we hold data only against an anonymous ID we can't link to you, we may be unable to identify your records.
- EU/UK users: our legal bases are performing our service to you (contract) and our legitimate interests in running and improving it; for Personalize settings that may reveal health information, we rely on your explicit consent, which you give by turning an option on and can withdraw by turning it off. Your data is processed in the United States; we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards where our providers offer them. You may complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
PourSavvy is about alcohol and is intended for adults of legal drinking age. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has used the app, contact us and we'll delete the data.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure.
Changes
We'll post changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will also be shown in the app.
